Southwest Wine Competition

It hardly seems possible, but it’s that time of year again! The Southwest Wine Competition is just around the corner. You will find a complete set of entry guidelines and entry forms posted as a PDF file on the link below.

Once again, we will be bringing in qualified judges from around the country to judge the entries submitted to the Southwest Wine Competition. We hope that you will join us by sending your finest wines to be judged. Judging will begin on Wednesday, June 6 and continue through Friday, June 8, 2001.

Here are the deadlines you need be aware of:

May 28, 2001 - Entry forms must be received in our office.

June 1, 2001 - Wines must be received in our office.

As participants in the Southwest Wine Competition, you have the opportunity to sample and sell your wines at this terrific outdoor event. Details on how you can reserve a space at Pinestock are also provided as as PDF file below. For your convenience, a Public Celebration Permit is also posted as a PDF. If you wish to participate, we will need to have this permit completed, signed and returned to us. We will forward it to the New Mexico Department of Alcohol and Gaming Division.

If you are an out-of-state winery, you will also be allowed to sell your product at Pinestock. Out-of-state wineries can sell up to 25 cases of wine during this event. In addition to the sales limit, you must be aware that in order to serve wines at Pinestock, you must have a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s Permit. Last year, we were able to schedule a class for our out-of-state participants just prior to the event. The Server’s Permit is then valid for 5 years. Please let us know if you will need to be certified, and we will work on setting this class up again.
